Escaping the GRAVITY!!!

When I was in 6th or 7th we learned this notion called Escape Velocity in physics, which is defined as the minimum velocity needed by a object, say a stone, to be projected vertically, to be able to escape the velocity of a planet. On my planet of residence its about 11.2Km/s.

Since at that time I did not have any idea of the physical sense of what a 11.km/s veocity would be and also since the teacher did not mention about the atmosphere friction. I had spent considerable time thinking about launching my own private space craft  that day and also frowned upon the hype being given to all these space missions…I mean whats there to ado about…..they just took a big stone(the craft) burnt a lot of fuel and gave it the escape velocity :P …my father tried to put sense back into me but i was defiant….and did not understand what was wrong with my dream to put my ship in orbit.

Then there was this time in my life when I was introduced to astornomy(Which I hope will be my profession at the time of my death) and I learnt that its a accepted fact that one of the most hardest parts in launching a craft into space, ie escaping the planets gravity.

Blogging is one way very similar to that. I had launced two rockets before, but none cleared the gravitational pull ,which in the blogs case being my inherent laziness to sit down and blog :P , but I have finally forced myself to do a second post…..here comes the sweet smell of outer space

now a bit about the journey from the surface to the atmosheric limits….trust me when i say its has not been easy…..

For starters i caught hold of this fad called blogging…or rather it  caught me…..after reading some blogs…since it was the holidays after my 4 years at colleges and I was supposed to be realxing for my hectic days ahead @ MindTree, I thought what the hell, why not do this thing…

Sadly the pefectionist in me(actually the escapist) did not feel like blogging till I got my templete right. I tried some other sites like blogspot and blogthing. At blogspog, even though its very easy to setup a blog, its basically done with the "google" philosophy i.e make things simmmpppllleeee. That simplicity, even though has a appeal to a non techie for its ease of use, does rob you of a lot of options and customizations. So my blog there lasted for 2 days after which I started getting sleepless nights, which were reminiscent of the time I bought a typewriter…but that can wait for another post.

So ultimatly armed with my last few days with a ADSL  connection(since I was moving to banglore, I started hunting for the `perfect` blog..a part of me was happy since I was trying to perfect my blog but moslty maybe I resolved that I wont write anymore posts till I finalise my blog, the other part was growing restless due to the impeding inevitability of having to start earning a living….

I came to know about wordpress and othee blog software (I dont rem their name now…) and read a lot of comparisions and why individuals prefered them and what not… I actually got a crash course on CSS and understood for the first time that I had wasted a lot of time trying to figure out how people had coded certain asthetic sites with my limited knowledge of HTML and javascript…..

‘Finally(Whew…) I found this site…which I fealt offered me the perfect blend of customization and ease of use……
